Miramar Ski Club
Miramar is a not-for-profit ski club, with our own cozy lodge in picturesque Waitsfield Village, in Vermont. the lodge is in a converted mill on the Mad River that sleeps 52 people, usually two to a room. The Club runs bus trips every weekend throughout the winter, leaving on Friday evenings from midtown Manhattan, with a second pickup in northern New Jersey.
The bus stays with us throughout the weekend, and takes us to and from the ski areas.
We encourage newcomers to join on trips as our guests. We are looking for adults who are enthusiastic about snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing . . . people who love the outdoors, and would enjoy becoming active members of a cooperative, not-for-profit volunteer club.
The Club's 200+ members represent a wide range of ages
and skiing/snowboarding abilities. Club trips feature downhill skiing and boarding at areas such as Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, Stowe and Killington, and cross-country skiing at Ole's and the Mt. Mansfield Touring Center.
We are able to keep our fees down because we are a volunteer organization. On weekend trips everyone is asked to help with simple, light chores such as unloading skis from the bus or taking out the garbage after dinner. Heavier housekeeping is provided by paid staff.
In addition, during the "off" season, we have "work weekends", when we pitch in to help restore and maintain the lodge. Of course, time is always set aside for some "off-season" play weekends and a mid-summer week, taking advantage of the wonderful hiking, biking and other local outdoor activities.
